You can bring up to two pets for free (dogs, cats or other small domestic animals).
Dogs must be on a lead
All other pets must be kept in a secure pet carrier
Pets must stay off seats and out of the aisles
If you bring more than two pets, you may be asked to pay a fee (up to £5 single / £10 return).
Travelling with dogs
Dogs are welcome on all UK trains as long as they are well behaved and don’t disturb other passengers.
Please take extra care when boarding or leaving the train, especially at stations with gaps between the platform and train.
Train staff may refuse entry to any dog (except assistance dogs) if it is causing problems or presents a risk.
Rules for dogs:
Must be on a lead at all times, unless inside a carrier
Cannot occupy a seat
May be refused travel due to behaviour or size
Travelling with other pets
Other small domestic animals are allowed, but they must be kept in a pet carrier for the entire journey and must never be placed on a seat.
Non-domesticated animals are not permitted on board.
